In General
- Turn on all lights and lamps before arrival of photographer.
- Turn all interior and exterior fans off.
- For you and your family’s privacy it’s recommended you remove family photographs from view.
- Close the windows and open blinds.
*Please take under into consideration MPI photographers are protected by certain health code restrictions. Under no circumstance are they permitted to touch any personal items that may be deemed unsanitary.
Exteriors
- Park on the street or in an enclosed garage.
- Rake leaves and sticks from the yard.
- Remove all children’s and pet’s toys.
- Hide garbage cans.
- Put away all tools and supplies.
- Close any gates and garage doors.
- Remove pool toys, cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Clean pet waste from yard.
Interiors
- Clean the house – including floors, windows, and all surfaces.
- Remove clutter. Put it away in an enclosed closet or cabinet.
- Hide visible cords.
- Put away children’s or pet’s toys.
Dining Room
- Set the table or clear everything but a small centerpiece.
Kitchen
- Remove all refrigerator magnets, photos, artwork, etc.
- Clear the top of the refrigerator.
- Clear countertops.
- Put away all cleaning supplies.
- Put away all towels including wash rags and dish towels.
- Hide the garbage in a closet or pantry.
- Put away any water or food bowls for pets.
Bedrooms
- Make the bed.
- Remove anything stored under the bed if there is no dust ruffle to cover it.
- Put away all shoes and clothing.
- Clear the bedside tables; leave only lamps / clocks.
- Clear or straighten up the dresser – no personal items.
- Straighten bookshelves.
If Applicable
Walk-In Closet
- Tidy-up the closet by organizing / sorting clothing and shoes.
Bathrooms
- Open the shower curtain.
- Put down the toilet seat.
- Put out fresh, matching towels.
- Hide all bath products and toiletries.
- Hide air fresheners including those that plug-in.
- Hide all cleaning products.
Home Office
- Hide any visible cords.
- Put away all paperwork and personal items.
Pets
- Pets must be properly restrained or the photographer reserves the right to not enter the property.
- It is the homeowner’s or agent’s responsibility to keep pets out of the shots.
- Put away all toys, food and water bowls, and litter boxes.
